His Promises

Forward

The Christian’s walk of faith is, at times, both exhilarating and taxing. Sister Nancy Shoap, for whom I am privileged to serve as Pastor, shares her first hand journey through the trails of life and shows how, as the poem “Footprints in the Sand” illustrates, God is carrying us in our most desperate of times. She takes the scriptures and superimposes them over life’s circumstances allowing us to catch a glimpse of how God’s children should live in this world.

Nancy calls our attention to God’s “omnipresence” as she invites and challenges us to lean, even rely, on Him. These fresh, true to life, stories took place in her life and the lives of those around her and did not go unnoticed. She helps us see God’s gentle nudging.

These powerful, yet simple and easy to read, vignettes’ would make great sermon illustrations for any minister seeking to help others understand and live in the Word. I see the potential for a devotional guide and Bible-study topics. This work is an extraordinary account of God’s work in ordinary people. A must read and guaranteed spiritual pick-me-up!
